VOLCANIC WINES
Our volcanic wines were born with a precise mission: to elevate unique lands, to protect the secrets of the past and bring new energy to extraordinary places that deserve to shine and be rediscovered by everyone.
Fire, rock and wine
The Donnafugata volcanic wines are born from two worlds beyond compare: Pantelleria and the slopes of Mount Etna. Territories where the volcanic soil nourishes the roots with its own unique richness, the temperature variations forge the character of the wine, and the breeze brings out the freshness of the aromas.
The wine that learns from the wind
On Pantelleria, island of volcanic origin in the heart of the Mediterranean, the Zibibbo is cultivated using the Pantelleria “alberello” head-trained bush practice on the traditional terraces and between dry stone walls. This sun and wind-swept island is the setting for a heroic viticulture that yields aromatic wines full of freshness and minerality. Irresistible in every way.
An understated elegance forged on high
Donnafugata has chosen the northern slopes of Mount Etna to produce its mountain wines. Here, the combination of the mountain climate with its strong temperature variations and the mineral-rich volcanic soils creates an aromatic complexity that makes these wines genuine sensory masterpieces.
