Jazz and wine: an intuition that became a project
Everything began in 2002, fruit of a passion shared by José Rallo and her husband Vincenzo Favara. The idea was to combine music and wine in an experience in which every wine is paired with a track that accompanies the rhythm of the tasting and reflects and emphasises the wine’s intensity, harmony and variation. The result was the Donnafugata Music & Wine project, which has spawned three jazz albums and a series of concerts in iconic locations like the Blue Note in New York, Beijing, Shanghai, the Acropolis Museum of Athens and the Archaeology Park of Segesta.
A multisensory experience to relive whenever you want
The repertoire of jazz and Brazilian music sung by José Rallo is gathered together in three albums for those who want to recreate the same atmosphere with a glass of wine in their hand and some good music in the background. All are available on Spotify.
Donnafugata Music & Wine Live (2004)
Il primo album del Donnafugata Music&Wine è registrato presso la Casa della Musica di Trieste, e lanciato con un concerto al Blue Note di Milano nell’ottobre del 2004.
Donnafugata Music & Wine & The Brass Group (2007)
Nel 2007 viene inciso il secondo album con la partecipazione di Eliot Zigmund e Bill Moring, due grandi nomi del Jazz mondiale, e la collaborazione del The Brass Group, storica fondazione di Palermo promotrice della cultura musicale.
Donnafugata Music & Wine with The Brass Group Rebirth (2022)
Registrato nel 2020, Rebirth è un disco nato dalla voglia di rinascita. Un album che propone un repertorio di 11 brani ed un omaggio alla Sicilia, al vino e alla letteratura.
